Job summary

DoorDash is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our Tax Data Mart team in Mexico City. This role will own the processes for ingesting, transforming, and controlling data, ensuring accuracy, and making it available to analytics and business users.

You will design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines, develop data models, collaborate with Analytics and Data Science teams, and help define data tooling needs while documenting systems and sharing best practices across the team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or a similar role.
• Experience using DBT or a similar product to manage data flows.
• Experience using Claude, Cursor and similar AI tools.
• SQL expertise with Snowflake.
• Proficiency in Python for building data pipelines.
• Experience with Airflow, Spark, or Kafka.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
• Independent motivation with ability to manage multiple projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Project management experience with plans, milestones, and due dates.
• Degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines (ETL/ELT).
• Develop and optimize data models and warehouse structures.
• Collaborate with Analytics, Data Science, and business partners.
• Identify and document data requirements for new initiatives.
• Monitor data quality, reliability, and observability.
