Job summary

DoorDash in Mexico City is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join the Tax Data Mart team. You will own ingesting, transforming, and governing data to power analytics, reporting, and decision-making across the company.

Design and maintain scalable data pipelines, build data models, collaborate with analytics, data science, and business partners, ensure data quality, and document systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a data engineering or similar role.
• Experience using DBT or a similar product to manage data flows.
• Experience using Claude, Cursor and similar AI tools.
• Expertise with SQL and Snowflake.
• Proficiency in Python for building data pipelines.
• Experience with modern data stack and orchestration tools such as Airflow, Spark, or Kafka.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Independent and able to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Project management experience, including creating plans, milestones, and due dates.
• Degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable data pipelines that serve data across the company.
• Develop and optimize data models and warehouse structures to support analytics and reporting.
• Collaborate with Analytics, Data Science, and business partners in developing and validating new data sources.
• Identify and document requirements to support new initiatives and enhance systems.
• Leverage AI-assisted tooling to automate recurring data tasks and pipelines.
• Monitor data quality, reliability, and observability; resolve issues for stakeholders.
• Define data tooling needs and maintain existing systems.
• Prepare documentation related to data systems and processes.
• Share knowledge and best practices with engineers and analysts.
