Job summary

Zipdev LLC is seeking a Senior QA Engineer (Automation and AI tooling) to ensure the quality, security, and privacy of a cloud-based dental practice management platform. The role combines manual and automated testing across Rails and React apps, APIs, and integrations.

You will design and execute tests, build automated suites with Ranorex, Mabl, Selenium, and Playwright, and review AI-generated tests for accuracy. Remote work available; healthcare domain knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in software quality assurance, including both manual and automated testing.
• Hands-on experience with automation frameworks.
• Experience designing, executing, and maintaining automated test suites.
• Strong understanding and proven experience doing API testing.
• Experience testing web applications, APIs, and third-party integrations.
• Experience using Postman or similar tools to validate REST APIs.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated quality gates.
• Ability to investigate application behavior, reproduce defects, and document clear bug reports.
• Experience collaborating with developers to improve test coverage and software quality.
• Familiarity with Git-based workflows, pull requests, and Agile development practices.
• Ability to understand application behavior across frontend and backend systems.
• Strong analytical skills and methodical troubleshooting.
• AI Tooling & Automation — Required
• Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants such as Claude Code.
• Experience using AI tools to support test generation, automation, or coverage analysis.
• Ability to evaluate AI-generated tests for correctness and realistic scenarios.
• Identify hallucinated mocks and incorrect assumptions.
• Willingness to incorporate AI tools into QA processes to improve efficiency.
• Nice to Have
• Experience testing healthcare, dental, or regulated SaaS apps.
• Familiarity with dental practice management systems.
• Experience with Ruby on Rails and React applications.
• Familiarity with RSpec, FactoryBot, WebMock, or VCR.
• Experience with Playwright or end-to-end testing frameworks.
• Experience with k6 or Locust for performance testing.
• Familiarity with Azure Cosmos DB.
• Experience with TDD or BDD.
• Familiarity with HL7 or FHIR.
• Visual regression/testing components.
• Remote work option: Monday - Friday, 40 hours.

Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and maintain manual and automated tests for web applications, APIs, and integrations.
• Build and maintain automated test suites using Ranorex, Mabl, Selenium, or similar frameworks.
• Perform API testing using Postman to validate endpoints and integrations.
• Conduct functional, integration, regression, exploratory, and end-to-end testing.
• Collaborate with developers to identify testing requirements and improve test coverage.
• Validate critical workflows such as scheduling, provider workflows, patient lookups, and authentication.
• Identify, document, reproduce, and track defects with steps and environment details.
• Support automated quality checks within CI/CD pipelines.
• Review test results and identify gaps in coverage and reliability.
• Use AI tools to accelerate test creation and coverage analysis.
• Review AI-generated tests for accuracy and meaningful assertions.
• Participate in code and PR reviews to identify quality, security, and compliance risks.
• Maintain test documentation, test cases, and QA procedures.
• Work with synthetic data to prevent exposure of real patient information.
• Identify security and privacy risks during testing.
• Collaborate with engineering to improve testing processes and release confidence.
