Corning Incorporated is seeking an experienced engineer to ensure product reliability and performance, collaborating with development and manufacturing teams. You will tackle customer challenges, drive cost reduction, and serve as the technical reference for product lines you own.

The role emphasizes leading problem solving, qualification planning, and cross-functional project leadership, with opportunities to mentor others and influence new product configurations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electromechanical or Engineering, or another technical area.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing, development, product or process engineering.
• Belt training and Lean fundamentals, with strong technical proficiency and problem-solving skills.
• Project leadership experience, from scope to implementation.
• Proficient English, able to present technical concepts both in writing and verbally.
• Basic knowledge of parametric software (SOLID, ProE or similar) and proficient use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, adaptability to changing priorities, and the ability to build relationships in diverse teams.
• Availability to travel up to 20% based on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead problem solving and provide technical expertise to resolve process and equipment issues in a timely manner, using tools such as DOE, SPC, SQC and OEE (Green and Black Belt skills).
• Ensure product fit, form and function through qualification test plans, design control and change approval, balancing speed to market and profitability.
• Lead projects for new products, configurations and technologies, including cost reduction and capacity improvement initiatives, and coordinate product launches and initial runs.
• Coach and mentor junior engineers and technicians, and respond to customer and commercial requests for product changes.
