The incumbent will lead design efforts, review budgets, and potentially manage projects, while traveling as needed and leveraging a broad set of engineering disciplines to deliver quality work on schedule.

Qualifications

• Fifteen or nineteen years total design experience depending on prior employer(s)
• Associate degree or equivalent in engineering is preferred

Responsibilities

• Interprets, organizes, executes and coordinates design tasks with budget adherence and cross-discipline coordination
• Makes design decisions independently with input from managers for unusual problems
• Produces finished plans and specifications and reviews materials and construction results
• Completes work on major engineering projects or smaller projects
• Serves as job captain on single or multi-discipline projects
• Prepares or reviews construction budgets and cost estimates
• Writes scope of work for design after client meetings
• May perform project management functions
• May assign and review work of design team and monitor progress
• Suggests new approaches to problems and communicates them to the team
• Represents the firm in meetings to plan and coordinate projects
• May prepare total design and construction cost estimates
• Travel required and valid driver’s license may be required
