SSOE, Inc. is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer in León, Guanajuato to lead electrical design for large industrial facilities.

You will manage power distribution, lighting, grounding, and BIM coordination using Revit, while mentoring junior engineers and coordinating with architectural, structural, and mechanical teams. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, 13+ years in AEC, a Mexico professional license, and strong NEC/NFPA/IES knowledge.

Responsibilities

The following duties are typical of the position but are not all encompassing. Responsibilities include those required to deliver quality service on schedule and within budget in a team environment.

• Leads the design and development of electrical systems for large-scale industrial projects, including power distribution (medium- and low-voltage), lighting, and grounding systems.
• Manages and executes design deliverables using Revit / BIM platforms, applying SSOE standards for model quality and coordination.
• Performs and reviews load calculations, short‑circuit and coordination studies, and lighting analysis using industry software.
• Represents the firm in meetings and conferences to resolve important questions and to plan and coordinate a project.
• Defines project scope of work and organizes into manageable tasks.
• Provides supervisor and project manager with scope of work change warnings.
• Applies intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas of assignments.
• Makes independent decisions on complex electrical engineering problems, practices, and methods, and may create or refine unique design solutions.
• Supervision and guidance related largely to overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts, policy matters, and/or unusual problems and developments.
• Plans, develops, coordinates, and directs a medium to large engineering project or several smaller complex projects with overall responsibility for budget adherence, schedule adherence, quality control, and inter‑discipline coordination.
• Responsible for the acceptance or rejection of major items involving materials, equipment, manufacturer's quality, and field construction, as applicable.
• Ensures electrical designs align with all applicable codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, IES, local jurisdictional requirements).
• Serves as discipline lead on complex projects—planning tasks, overseeing junior engineers/designers, and reviewing design documentation for accuracy.
• May serve as a discipline advisor or technical specialist on complex or specialized electrical engineering matters.
• Collaborates closely with architectural, structural, and mechanical teams to deliver coordinated, efficient building designs.
• Participates in client engagement: define project scope, present design progress, and ensure client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develops or reviews technical specifications and cost estimates.
• Mentors emerging designers and engineers, promoting technical excellence and knowledge sharing.
• Keeps current on new design methods, industry standards, and technologies.
• Supports project management and business development activities as needed.
• Occasional travel for coordination workshops.

Qualifications

What You Will Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical, or any other related discipline; Master's degree preferred.
• 13+ years of relevant electrical design engineering experience within the AEC industry, with a focus on large industrial facilities (Automotive plants, Industrial Warehouses, Manufacturing Plants, Data Centers, etc.).
• Professional license in Mexico is required (Título and Cédula Profesional).
• Demonstrated expertise in power distribution, lighting, grounding, and low‑voltage systems design.
• Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and related BIM coordination tools.
• Familiarity with industry software such as SKM Power Tools, ETAP, Easy Power, or AGi32.
• Deep understanding of NEC, NFPA, IES, and applicable energy codes.
• Strong ability to lead multidisciplinary design teams and manage deliverables for multiple concurrent projects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
