Job summary

The QualiFind Group is seeking an experienced Molding Engineering Superintendent to lead the design, development, and optimization of plastic injection molds for automotive components. This role ensures tooling integrity, manufacturing efficiency, and adherence to automotive quality standards across the lifecycle.

You will manage tooling design reviews, mold flow analysis, and supplier coordination, while driving Lean improvements and advanced molding technologies to reduce downtime and costs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• 5–7 years of direct, hands-on experience in injection molding tooling and process.
• RJG Master Molder I is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead design review and approval of new injection molding tools per DFM and IATF 16949.
• Advise product designers on moldability, material selection, tooling feasibility, and design cost.
• Conduct Mold Flow Analysis to optimize gating, cooling, and cycle times.
• Manage tooling procurement including specs, quotes, suppliers, and timeline.
• Implement advanced molding technologies as required.
• Develop PM and Predictive Maintenance programs for tooling.
• Oversee tool shop and external repair vendors; ensure quality specs.
• Coordinate tool refurbishments and engineering changes (ECR).
• Lead process setup, validation (IQ/OQ/PQ) and PPAP runs.
• Drive Lean/Six Sigma and 8D based improvements.
