Job summary

Yanfeng is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to drive technical team initiatives in our injection molding and manufacturing processes in Mexico. The role works with production, quality, and maintenance to plan and modify activities that meet customer requirements and improve operations.

You will lead manufacturing and process engineering, oversee continuous improvement efforts, and support new product launches with tooling and process input to ensure production readiness.

Qualifications

• 7-10 minimum years of experience leading engineering and maintenance.
• 5-9 minimum years in the automotive industry.
• Six Sigma Green or Black Belt.
• 3-5 years of injection molding experience.
• Understanding of scientific molding concepts.
• Experience with various injection molding technologies.
• 3-5 years leading manufacturing engineering.
• 3-5 years with vacuum forming and foam in place processes.

Responsibilities

• Drive activities of technical team to achieve continuous improvement of injection molding and manufacturing processes.
• Plan and modify process activities to support customer requirements.
• Develop plans for process improvement and accountability across engineering and maintenance.
• Provide manufacturing input for development of new process and tooling for new products.
• Ensure tools and processes from launch are production-ready and executed smoothly.
• Direct all engineering and maintenance functions in the plant, assign responsibilities and ensure performance.

Job description

Drives activities of technical team to achieve continuous improvement of injection molding and manufacturing processes. Works with production management, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify process activities to support customer requirements. Implements new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labor and materials. Responsible for participating in the development of all new products that are received by the plant.

• Responsible for all plant engineering functions including manufacturing engineering and process engineering.
• Leads and drives activities related to continuous improvement (e.g., cycle times, scrap, quality, material cost reduction, regrind implementation, etc.).
• Reviews and establishes contingencies / justifications for Capital Appropriation Requests, department budgets, and personnel salary plans.
• Develops plans for process improvement and will have specific areas of accountability in its execution.
• Provides support on new product launch tooling, providing the manufacturing input for development of new process and improvements to existing processes and tooling.
• Ensures new tools and processes from launch team are ready for production and ensures smooth execution in operations.
• Direct all engineering and maintenance functions in the plant, assigns responsibilities and ensure compliance to expectations of performance.
