What you’ll do

You will be the first dedicated marketing hire for Mexico, responsible for building Airwallex's marketing presence from the ground up in one of Latin America's most dynamic cross‑border commerce markets. You will localize global campaigns, develop Mexico‑specific programs, and partner with the local commercial team to generate pipeline and accelerate customer growth. This role requires someone who can operate independently, move fast in ambiguity, and connect marketing activity directly to business outcomes. You will report to the VP, Marketing, NA and collaborate with global Marketing, Sales, Partnerships, Product, and Operations teams across multiple time zones.

This role is based in Mexico City.

Responsibilities:
  • Plan, produce, and execute all local physical and hybrid field events—including intimate C‑level roundtables, networking dinners, customer workshops, trade shows, and industry conferences.
  • Develop and execute the local content roadmap; define structural frameworks ("skeletons") and quarterback the end‑to‑end development of localized thought leadership, whitepapers, industry reports, and high‑converting lead magnets that drive top‑of‑funnel demand and establish Airwallex as a market authority.
  • Localize global messaging and campaigns for Mexican businesses, decision‑makers, and buying journeys.
  • Build marketing programs around Mexico's cross‑border commerce, international business, fintech, payments, and digital‑business ecosystem.
  • Develop high‑quality Spanish‑language content, customer communications, events, and campaign experiences appropriate for the Mexican market.
  • Partner with the Mexico commercial organization to identify priority industries, customer segments, use cases, and local proof points.
  • Build relationships with Mexican fintech, technology, commerce, startup, and business communities.
  • Coordinate local market requirements with Product, Operations, Legal, Compliance, and central Marketing teams.
  • Own the regional marketing budget for Mexico, ensuring efficient spend and measurable return on investment.
  • Define and track local marketing KPIs tied to pipeline, revenue, brand awareness, and customer acquisition; report on campaign effectiveness and continuously optimize strategies.
  • Act as Airwallex's marketing voice in Mexico, representing the brand at local events, in media, and with ecosystem partners to position Airwallex as a thought leader in the market.
Who you are

We're looking for people who meet the minimum requirements for this role. The preferred qualifications are great to have, but are not mandatory.

Minimum qualifications:
  • 8+ years of experience in marketing, with meaningful experience in regional, country, growth, demand‑generation, integrated, field, or product marketing.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing marketing plans for a country, region, business line, or new market.
  • Strong track record of building programs from the ground up and delivering measurable outcomes rather than only managing existing campaigns.
  • Experience partnering closely with Sales, Partnerships, SDR, RevOps, Product, and global Marketing teams.
  • Proven ability to connect marketing activity to business outcomes, including pipeline, revenue, acquisition, conversion, activation, or customer growth.
  • Strong understanding of integrated marketing channels, campaign operations, measurement, attribution, and funnel optimization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish.
  • Strong local‑market knowledge and credibility with relevant customers, partners, media, industry groups, or ecosystem stakeholders in Mexico.
  • Experience operating independently in a high‑growth, ambiguous, or evolving environment.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, project‑management, and stakeholder‑management skills.
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and coordinate complex cross‑functional work without direct authority.
  • Experience in fintech, payments, banking, SaaS, or B2B technology sectors.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience marketing cross‑border payments, treasury, FX, or global financial infrastructure products to business audiences in Mexico or Latin America.
  • Prior experience at a high‑growth fintech or technology company during a new‑market launch or early‑stage expansion phase.
  • Comfort operating in environments with high standards, fast iteration cycles, and evolving priorities.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias toward action and continuous improvement.
  • Experience managing external agencies, freelancers, or vendor relationships in the Mexican market.
