Luxoft in Mexico is seeking a Senior Linux Systems Engineer to maintain high-performance Linux infrastructure for a leading US hedge fund. You will ensure reliability, security, and blazing speed across research and platform environments.

The role focuses on operating and scaling Linux servers, troubleshooting production issues, managing Kubernetes and Slurm compute environments, OS lifecycle, automation with Python/Bash, and improving observability with Git and config management.

Formación

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Linux systems engineering, SRE, DevOps, or enterprise infrastructure support.
• Deep Linux Expertise: Advanced administration skills including systemd, package management, advanced permissions, filesystems, and deep performance tuning/log analysis.
• Networking Fundamentals: DNS, NTP/PTP, routing, and host-level connectivity troubleshooting.
• Automation & IaC: Scripting skills (Python, Bash) and configuration management / IaC tools (Ansible, Salt, or Terraform).
• Clustered & Container Platforms: Familiarity with Kubernetes, virtualization, or containerized environments.
• Mindset & Communication: Methodical problem-solver with strong ownership and collaborative across global teams.

Responsabilidades

• Operate & Scale: Manage core Linux servers and shared infrastructure powering cutting-edge research and platform engineering teams.
• Troubleshoot & Resolve: Diagnose complex production issues spanning system performance, availability, network connectivity, and user access.
• Container & Compute Management: Support Kubernetes platforms and scheduler-backed compute environments (such as Slurm) to ensure optimal node health and stability.
• Secure & Modernize: Own the OS lifecycle—from provisioning and security hardening to kernel patching and package management.
• Automate Operations: Write robust scripts in Python or Bash to eliminate manual toil and build resilient, automated workflows.
• Enhance Observability: Improve monitoring, alerting, and version-controlled infrastructure changes using Git and configuration management tools.

• Clustered & Container Platforms: Familiarity with Kubernetes, virtualization, or containerized environments.
