Luxoft is seeking a Linux Systems Engineer to maintain critical Linux-based research and platform infrastructure for a large US hedge fund. You will operate production systems, troubleshoot incidents, and automate operational work to improve reliability and security.

You will support Linux servers, Kubernetes platforms, and scheduler-backed compute environments, build tooling in Python or Bash, and strengthen observability with monitoring and documentation.

Formación

• 3+ years of experience in Linux systems engineering, SRE, DevOps, or infrastructure support.
• Strong Linux administration skills including systemd, packages, permissions, filesystems, log analysis, and performance troubleshooting.
• Solid networking fundamentals (DNS, NTP/PTP, routing, host connectivity).
• Experience with automation, scripting, and operational tooling.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, virtualization, or clustered platforms.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Ansible, Salt, or Terraform.
• Ability to troubleshoot production issues methodically and communicate during incidents.
• Experience with Git-based workflows and maintainable documentation.
• Hands-on, ownership mindset and readiness to work near production.
• Collaborative approach across compute, storage, networking, and apps teams.

Responsabilidades

• Operate and support Linux servers and shared infrastructure used by research and platform teams.
• Troubleshoot production issues involving performance, availability, access, configuration, and networking.
• Support Kubernetes and container-based platforms, including node health and rollouts.
• Support scheduler-backed compute environments such as Slurm, including maintenance and recovery.
• Improve user-facing Linux access services like SSH and shared shells.
• Manage OS lifecycle work: provisioning, patching, kernel and package updates, hardening.
• Build scripts and automation in Python or Bash to reduce manual work.
• Use configuration management and IaC to implement safe infrastructure changes.
• Enhance monitoring, alerting, documentation, and operational processes.
• Participate in incident response and on-call support.
