Job summary

Alstom Grid México, located in Querétaro, seeks a Lead Substation Primary Engineer to design HV GIS/AIS substations, estimate materials, and support project execution and sales with strong client interaction. You will coordinate with GSI Global Engineering Centre teams, ensure IEEE/IEC compliance, and lead a small project team across design, procurement and site execution, with global travel as needed.

The role requires independent leadership, clear communication, and the ability to balance

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
6+ years of experience.
Knowledge of power system components and renewable energy integration.
Excellent communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work collaboratively across teams and with clients.

Responsibilities

HV (Primary) designs for GIS/AIS Substation projects.
Prepare SLD, general arrangement, Layout Plan & Section of plant and buildings.
Grounding, Lightning, Cable sizing, Battery sizing and Illumination system design.
Prepare HV equipment specifications/selections per IEEE/IEC.
Evaluate vendor shop drawings and technical specs.
Support tender drawings, BOQ estimation and RFQ finalization.
Coordinate with Automation, Civil & MEP and site/office teams.
Adapt to global renewable tech developments; ensure safety/EHS compliance.
Lead projects and client interactions; develop team skills.
