Job summary

Danfoss Reynosa plant is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead gear engineering activities in the Gears Engineering team within BU OGS. You will own PMI and NPD projects, guiding technical decisions and maintaining documentation to improve product performance and delivery.

Based in Reynosa with global collaboration, you will drive problem solving, support operations and sourcing, and mentor engineering colleagues while upholding quality standards and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• A Mechanical Engineering background with experience in hydraulics, combined with strong fundamentals in mechanical product development and engineering analysis.
• Experience with NX CAD and Teamcenter PLM, along with a solid understanding of GD&T and engineering standards.
• Knowledge of quality management principles and standards such as ISO 9001 and IATF 16949, with experience applying Six Sigma or comparable problem-solving and analysis methodologies.
• A self-directed, accountable, and proactive mindset, with the confidence to take ownership, make progress independently, and identify solutions when immediate guidance is not available.
• Strong leadership, collaboration, and English communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and work effectively with engineering colleagues across different locations.

Responsibilities

• Drive product engineering ownership for Reynosa products, including engineering change management and maintenance of technical documentation.
• Lead cross-functional NPD and PMI projects locally, proactively coordinating priorities, decisions, and technical activities with Engineering colleagues across other OGS locations.
• Partner with Operations, Sourcing, and PAE to solve technical challenges and support product quality, delivery performance, cost-reduction initiatives, customer requests, and new product variants.
• Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills by performing calculations, simulations, tolerance analyses, and structured technical investigations to validate designs and resolve product issues.
• Act as a trusted local engineering partner, taking initiative and providing technical guidance to Operations, the engineering laboratory, Sourcing, and other stakeholders while maintaining strong collaboration with the wider Engineering organization.

The Impact You'll Make

As our Senior Engineer, you’ll play a key role in the Gears Engineering team within BU OGS, supporting the development, improvement, and performance of mechanical hydraulic gear products, with a particular focus on products manufactured at our Reynosa plant.

You’ll take ownership of engineering activities related to PMI and NPD projects and provide local engineering leadership for key gear products. Your work will directly contribute to product performance, quality, delivery, technical problem-solving, and continuous improvement.

This is a role with a high level of ownership and autonomy. Based in Reynosa and working closely with engineering colleagues and leadership located at other sites, you’ll be empowered to independently drive priorities, solve complex technical challenges, and connect local needs with the broader engineering organization.
