Job summary

ON.energy seeks a Senior Control Panel Designer to own electrical drawing packages for our smart AI UPS and related power products, from concept through release for production. You will design PLC and I/O hardware, wiring diagrams, and safety circuits in AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN P8, ensuring compliance with UL 508A and NEC standards.

Day-to-day collaboration spans controls, power electronics, mechanical, manufacturing and procurement, helping set the drawing standards the team follows and

Qualifications

• 7+ years in control panel design and full drawing packages from concept to production release.
• Strong knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN P8 for libraries, templates and tagging.
• PLC and I/O hardware design including 24 VDC budgets, fusing and grounding.
• Network diagrams: Ethernet, Modbus TCP, IP schedules, panel to panel comms.
• Wiring detail: terminal blocks, cable schedules, interconnect diagrams.
• NEC/NFPA 70, UL 508A, SCCR, and component selection guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Carry complete drawing packages from concept through prototype and production release with ECO/ECN discipline.
• Design PLC and I/O hardware: lists, module/rack selection, power budgeting, fusing, conditioning.
• Produce network interface drawings: Ethernet/Modbus topology, fiber/copper runs, switch port assignments.
• Create wiring detail: terminal blocks, wire numbering, cable/conduit schedules.
• Design emergency stop and safety circuits: dual-channel monitored wiring and safety relays.
• Design switchgear interfaces: breaker circuits, CT/PT wiring, 125 VDC control power.
• Determine SCCR and NFPA/UL requirements for panels and enclosures.
• Generate BOMs and maintain component databases for procurement and manufacturing.
