Job summary

Mastercard seeks a seasoned Lead DevOps Engineer to own production readiness across services. You will drive architecture, deployment, monitoring, and incident response, while partnering with distributed teams to ensure scalable and reliable platforms.

This role emphasizes automation, CI/CD excellence, and security across environments. You will mentor junior engineers, shape best practices, and partner with product teams to align operational goals with business impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 8–15 years of experience in SRE, infrastructure, or DevOps with early leadership responsibilities.
• Strong foundation across enterprise platforms, Linux/UNIX, databases, and operational support.

Responsibilities

• Lead full lifecycle of services from architecture to deployment, operations, and optimization to ensure scalability and reliability.
• Analyze platform ITSM performance and influence roadmap prioritization to improve resiliency.
• Define production readiness standards, capacity planning, and launch governance before go‑live.
• Evolve monitoring for availability, latency, and system health; use telemetry to prevent incidents.
• Champion automation to scale systems and accelerate deployment velocity and reliability.
• Lead CI/CD design with validation, gates, and best practices across environments.
• Drive incident response with rapid mitigation and blameless postmortems for continuous improvement.
• Collaborate across distributed teams across time zones and hubs for alignment and high performance.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering excellence.
