Job summary

Mastercard in Mexico City is seeking a Lead Site Reliability Engineer to guide the MDES platform's reliability and performance. You will collaborate with software engineers, operations and partners to shorten feedback loops and reduce latency while maintaining high availability.

The role requires a degree in CS or related, strong knowledge of distributed systems, Docker/Kubernetes, and experience with monitoring tools; you will mentor teams and contribute to roadmaps and automation initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Systems, Information Technology or related; equivalent experience accepted.
• Advanced knowledge of web applications and distributed systems infrastructure and architecture.
• Business-level English proficiency is required.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with monitoring/observability tools like Dynatrace, Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus.

Responsibilities

• Lead SRE initiatives before go-live including design, performance engineering, chaos testing, capacity planning and launch reviews.
• Measure, monitor and communicate service metrics for availability, latency and health.
• Scale systems through automation and performance tuning to improve reliability and velocity.
• Maintain live services by monitoring availability and latency.
• Review production incidents and drive solutions to prevent recurrence.
