Job summary

Globalpayer is seeking a Senior COBOL Developer in Veracruz, Mexico to join our Mainframe Engineering & Payment Processing Technology Team. You will own reliability, performance, and data integrity for mission-critical payment systems powering millions of transactions daily.

Bring 6+ years of COBOL mainframe experience, strong JCL, VSAM/DB2, and incident resolution skills. You will work with cross-functional teams to modernize legacy apps while preserving security and uptime.

Qualifications

6+ years of COBOL mainframe experience in complex environments.
Deep COBOL, JCL, batch processing, debugging, and incident troubleshooting.
Knowledge of IBM mainframe tech: VSAM, DB2, TSO/ISPF, SDSF, CA-7, Endevor.
Ability to own critical incidents, prioritize under pressure, and ensure uptime.
Excellent communication and collaboration across technical and business teams.

Responsibilities

Lead resolution of complex production challenges and minimize risk.
Strengthen platform stability and data integrity through batch processing and recovery.
