Connect Tech+Talent is seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer/Senior Mainframe Engineer for a large-scale legacy modernization initiative in a remote Mexico setting. The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of experience, strong COBOL/JCL/DB2/CICS/VSAM skills, and proven ability to work across batch and online processing.
Qualifications
- COBOL strong hands-on development experience.
- JCL batch processing and job execution.
- DB2 SQL data access, troubleshooting and performance.
- CICS online transaction processing.
- VSAM file handling and data management.
- IBM z/OS Mainframe environment.
- Experience supporting legacy modernization or migration projects.
- Strong English communication for global teams.
Responsibilities
- Analyze, maintain, enhance, and modernize existing mainframe applications.
- Develop and support COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, and VSAM based solutions.
- Analyze legacy code, copybooks, batch jobs, data structures, and business rules.
- Support modernization and migration activities with minimal business impact.
- Create and modify batch programs, online transactions, databases, and interfaces.
- Troubleshoot production, application, and performance issues; perform root-cause analysis.
- Collaborate with architects and modernization teams to document and define target-state solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, defect resolution, and production support.
