Job summary

Bazz Houston (BHI) is seeking an experienced buyer/procurement professional to oversee purchasing activities and strategic supplier relationships in a Mexico-based role. The candidate will ensure material availability, negotiate terms, and drive cost-reduction initiatives across the supply base.

With 5+ years in procurement and fluency in English, you will monitor supplier performance and mitigate supply-chain risks while supporting inventory optimization and the development of alternate

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, economics, or supply chain management.
• At least 5 years of experience in a buyer or procurement role.
• Proficient English communication to interact with internal/external customers and suppliers.
• Customer service oriented; knowledge of MRP/ROP/Min-Max/KanBAN.
• APICS certification desired.

Responsibilities

• Oversee purchasing activities and manage strategic supplier relationships.
• Ensure material availability in line with MRP requirements.
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, payment terms, and other commercial conditions.
• Develop and implement cost-reduction initiatives.
• Track supplier performance across quality, delivery, cost, and service.
• Address material shortages and coordinate supplier recovery plans.
• Support inventory optimization initiatives.
• Identify and develop alternative suppliers to reduce supply-chain risk.
