Job summary

BairesDev is seeking a Principal Backend Engineer (Python) to shape the backend architecture for products serving millions of users. This hands-on leadership role requires owning features from design through deployment and working with product and design partners to drive the technical roadmap.

The role emphasizes strong Python expertise, AWS Serverless experience, and a scalable microservices mindset. 100% remote work is available worldwide, with compensation in USD or local currency.

Qualifications

10+ years of backend engineering experience required.
Strong Python proficiency and AWS Serverless expertise.
Experience with databases like PostgreSQL and DynamoDB; English fluency.

Responsibilities

Design and build backend architecture on AWS serverless infrastructure.
Own complete features end to end from design to deployment.
Design microservices and event-driven systems that scale.
Define infrastructure as code practices to support consistent, repeatable deployments.
Design APIs consumed by web and mobile applications.
Collaborate with product and design teams to shape the technical roadmap.
