Job summary

Outset Medical, Inc. is seeking a Senior Accountant to support accounting operations and financial reporting in a high-growth setting. You will help manage month‑end close, asset accounting, travel and expense administration, audits, and process improvements.

Responsibilities include ledger review, journal entries, reconciliations, interdepartmental collaboration, and SOX support. Strong Excel and ERP experience preferred to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• Experience supporting month-end close and financial reporting processes.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with enterprise accounting systems; QAD experience is preferred.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and review month-end and quarter-end close activities, including reconciliations and reporting.
• Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations with analyses.
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate accounting.
• Prepare audit schedules and documentation for internal and external audits.
• Participate in projects related to accounting systems, reporting, and process improvements.
• Identify and implement process improvements to improve efficiency and controls.
• Coordinate with FP&A and Accounts Payable for accurate accruals.
• Assist with SOX compliance activities and audit requests.
• Maintain and enhance internal accounting controls.
