Job summary

Nouryon is seeking an RTR Accountant II for our downtown Mexico City office. In this role you will execute Record-to-Report activities, support month-end close, maintain internal controls, and collaborate with global teams to deliver accurate financial reporting.

Your responsibilities include posting journal entries, AR and intercompany reconciliations, depreciation runs, balance sheet analysis, and contributing to process improvements and IFRS compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• 3–5 years of accounting experience (AP, AR, Cash, or GL).
• Fluent English, communicating with global teams.
• Experience with SAP or ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Post manual and recurring journal entries accurately and on time.
• Manage AR transactions, resolve unmatched items, and propose bad debt provisions.
• Perform intercompany accounting, including reconciliations and accruals.
• Support month-end close activities such as depreciation runs, revaluations, and salary uploads.
• Account for rebates, commissions, and FX hedging transactions.
• Analyze balance sheet and P&L positions, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues proactively.
• Clear suspense accounts and reconcile intercompany balances.
• Prepare reports and complete balance sheet reconciliations.
• Partner with Controlling, Reporting, Treasury, Sales, and Customer Service teams.
• Support process improvement initiatives, including Lean Six Sigma projects.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, governance requirements, and corporate policies.

About the Job

As an RTR Accountant II, you will play a key role in executing Record-to-Report activities and ensuring accurate, timely, and complete transactional accounting. You will support month-end close processes, maintain strong internal controls, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality financial reporting. This role also contributes to continuous improvement initiatives and alignment with global accounting standards and corporate guidelines.

In your future role as RTR Accountant, you will:

• Post manual and recurring journal entries accurately and on time
• Manage AR transactions, resolve unmatched items, and propose bad debt provisions
• Perform intercompany accounting, including reconciliations and accruals

We believe you bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• 3–5 years of experience in accounting (AP, AR, Cash, or general ledger)
• Fluent English , as you will be communicating regularly with global teams
• Experience working with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
• Strong Excel skills
• Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• A hands-on mindset and ability to meet deadlines, especially during month-end
• Team-oriented approach and continuous improvement mindset

Availability to work on-site at our office in downtown Mexico City (Insurgentes Sur), Monday through Friday
