The Standard, Mexico City is seeking a Rooms Controller to keep the rooms operation precise and energized. You will be highly organized, collaborative, and able to see the bigger picture while tracking every moving part.

You will monitor daily room status, coordinate with Front Office and Housekeeping, and ensure accurate records. Fluency in English and Spanish is required for an international team and guest base.

• Previous experience in Rooms Control or a related hotel operations role.
• Experience in a luxury lifestyle, boutique, or high-energy hospitality environment.
• Strong knowledge of room status and housekeeping operations.
• Fluency in English and Spanish.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsabilidades

• Monitor and coordinate the daily status of all guestrooms and residences.
• Maintain accurate room status information in the property management system.
• Coordinate with Front Office and Housekeeping on room readiness and priorities.
• Track discrepancies between system and physical room status until resolved.
• Prioritize rooms based on arrivals, VIPs, special occasions, and needs.
• Communicate updates clearly across departments.
• Support timely release of clean and inspected rooms.
• Keep logs, reports, and shift handovers up to date.

We're looking for a Rooms Controller to help keep the hotel’s rooms operation moving with precision, pace, and personality. We’re searching for someone highly organized, naturally collaborative, and able to see the bigger picture while keeping track of every moving part.

The Opportunity

At The Standard, a smooth stay starts long before a guest opens their door.

What You’ll Do

• Monitor and coordinate the daily status of all guestrooms and residences.
• Maintain accurate room status information in the property management system.
• Coordinate closely with Front Office and Housekeeping on room readiness, priorities, out-of-order rooms, and room moves.
• Track discrepancies between system status and physical room status, following up until resolved.
• Help prioritize rooms based on arrivals, VIPs, special occasions, early check-ins, and operational needs.
• Communicate updates clearly and efficiently across departments.
• Monitor room inspections, maintenance requests, deep-cleaning schedules, and pending follow-up.
• Support the timely release of clean and inspected rooms.
• Keep accurate records, logs, reports, and shift handovers.
• Help identify patterns or recurring issues that may affect room availability or the guest experience.
• Respond quickly and calmly to last-minute changes and unexpected situations.
• Support a smooth flow of information across the Rooms Division throughout the day.
• Follow all hotel standards related to privacy, safety, security, and guest confidentiality.
• Contribute to a working environment that is organized, communicative, and distinctly The Standard.

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring

• Previous experience in Rooms Control, Housekeeping Coordination, Front Office, Rooms Division, or a similar hotel operations role.
• Experience in a luxury lifestyle hotel, boutique hotel, or high-energy hospitality environment.
• Strong knowledge of room status, housekeeping operations, and hotel coordination.
• Excellent organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Confidence working with property management systems and operational reports.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities while staying calm and focused.
• Strong communication skills and a natural ability to connect with different departments.
• A proactive, solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
• Fluency in English and Spanish, with the ability to confidently communicate with an international team and clientele.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• A curious, reliable, and personable approach that feels right at home at The Standard.
