Job summary

Capgemini Engineering is seeking a Design & Release Engineer (DRE) with experience in hydraulic sealing systems for automotive transmissions. You will lead design and release activities, develop sealing components, and ensure reliability from concept through launch.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or materials engineering.
• Experience in automotive transmission, hydraulic systems, or sealing technologies.
• Experience with Design Release Engineering activities.
• Strong knowledge of DFMEA, DVP&R, and Root Cause Analysis.
• Experience with NX, CATIA, and/or Teamcenter.
• Working knowledge of GD&T.
• Experience with Tier 1 suppliers.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced English proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and release of hydraulic sealing components for automotive transmission systems.
• Develop technical requirements and specifications for sealing applications.
• Support development of dynamic and static sealing solutions.
• Design and validate oil seals, shaft seals, O-rings, gaskets, and related sealing technologies.
• Generate and review CAD models and drawings using NX and/or CATIA.
• Apply GD&T principles to critical sealing interfaces.
• Develop and maintain DFMEA and DVP&R documentation.
• Coordinate component and system validation activities.
• Investigate fluid leakage, pressure loss, durability, and material performance issues.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
• Manage engineering change activities and release documentation through Teamcenter.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure design-for-manufacturing compliance.
• Manage Tier 1 sealing suppliers throughout the development process.
• Support prototype builds, launch activities, and warranty investigations.
