Job summary

LawnStarter is seeking an Analytics Engineer to lead data governance as the first dedicated data steward. You’ll own the data roadmap, ensure data quality, and enable self-serve analytics across product, marketing, operations, and finance using Lightdash and dbt.

You’ll work hands-on with Redshift, Airflow, Segment, and the semantic layer, and you’ll setup governance that scales with the business while migrating to Lightdash from legacy tools.

• You’re hands-on, a developer at heart, and able to write SQL and code while guiding others.

Responsibilities

• Own the data roadmap by balancing business needs with platform health.
• 0
• Guard data lineage and impact analysis across production to dashboard.
• Oversee Lightdash administration, spaces, permissions, and self-serve enablement.
• Extend semantic layer definitions and ensure one-definition-per-metric across critical metrics.
• Governance of event tracking (Segment) and data privacy/security practices.
• Lead automation and monitoring to prevent data breakage and incidents.
