Job summary

Hires seeks an Application Engineer to back our client by providing engineering, commercial, and technical support to sales teams, distributors, and end-users. You will size equipment, prepare quotes, troubleshoot, and demonstrate products, while presenting to customers and partners across Latin America.

The ideal candidate combines engineering expertise with commercial acumen and strong customer-facing skills to enable growth and deliver effective technical solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or related Engineering field.
• 2+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of fluid dynamics and equipment sizing.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, 3D models, process flow diagrams, and P&IDs.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and sizing/pricing software.
• Excellent technical, communication, and customer service skills.
• Willingness to travel periodically to customer sites across Latin America.

Responsibilities

• Review customer specifications and prepare accurate sales proposals, pricing, and delivery estimates using sizing software and technical catalogs.
• Size and select equipment, recommend modifications, identify cost reductions, and drive growth through cross-selling.
• Conduct technical presentations and hands-on training for customers, representatives, and distributors.
• Participate in customer meetings and occasional sales calls alongside Sales Managers and distributors.
• Provide end-to-end technical support for equipment installation, operation, and maintenance.
• Resolve field complaints, warranty issues, and quality claims professionally and effectively.
• Support custom product design, redesigns, and system modifications according to customer requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather competitive insights and support new product development.
