Commercial Vehicle Group, Inc. (CVG) is seeking a quality and operations professional to manage the plant's quality management system, drive improvement initiatives, and ensure customer satisfaction.

You will lead cross-functional teams to implement IATF 16949 and lean initiatives, coordinate audits, and oversee corrective actions. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in admin/industrial engineering or related field and at least three years of experience in operations and supply chain.

Formación

  • Bachelor’s degree in Admin./Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of three years in a similar position.
  • Experience in operations management and in supply chain.
  • Knowledge of IATF 16949, QMS, Lean and Six Sigma.

Responsabilidades

  • Liaise between Customers and the Plant; address visits and complaints and drive corrective actions.
  • Maintain the Quality Management System and coordinate with customers and the plant on changes.
  • Coordinate advanced quality planning and monitor its initial manufacturing phases.
  • Define inspection methods, sampling plans, and critical characteristics to meet customer expectations.
  • Lead statistical techniques to reduce process variation and conduct internal audits.
  • Oversee quality management activities to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Establish and maintain processes to determine compliance with the QMS.
  • Coordinate corrective actions and track 8D/problem-solving with leaders and quality engineers.
  • Validate measurement systems and methods used to quantify the measurement unit.

Summary

Manages operational systems, inspection operations, and continuous improvement projects. Promotes a disciplined operational culture and develops improvement strategies to support business objectives. Works cross-functionally to plan, execute, and sustain business process improvements.

Key Responsibilities and Main Activities:
1.-Satisfied Customers. -
  • Liaison between Customers and the Plant, attends to customer visits and complaints, follows up on “Corrective Action Reports”, leads efforts to reduce defective parts per million (ppm’s) of products sent to customers.
2.- IATF 16949 Management Representation
  • Maintain the Plant Quality Manual, liaison between the Registered Agency - Customers and the Plant, establishes management reviews of the quality system, leads the implementation of the necessary changes to the Quality Management System, thus continuously improving its effectiveness.
3.- Quality Planning.
  • Coordinator of the implementation and monitoring of the advanced quality planning methodology in all its initial phases of manufacturing.
4.- Inspection methods.
  • Determines the critical characteristics of the product and process, establishes the inspection and testing methods and the sampling plans to be applied from the receipt of raw materials, during the process and to the final product necessary to meet and/or exceed customer expectations.
5.- Application of advanced statistics
  • Instructs the personnel involved and establishes the statistical techniques necessary to reduce process variation.
6.- Internal audits.
  • Coordinates the processes that allow obtaining evidence to determine compliance with the requirements of the quality management system and evaluate its compliance.
7.- Quality management.
  • Establish, implement, maintain and update the processes that are necessary to determine the degrees of compliance with the quality management system established in the reference documentation.
8.- Corrective actions.
  • Manages the actions to be taken to eliminate a cause of non-compliance detected. Follow up on 8d’s with superintendents and/or quality engineers through meetings either weekly, biweekly or monthly, as required.
9.- Validation of the measurement system.

Analyze the measurement systems, methods, instruments and resources used to quantify the measurement unit.

Experience/Skills
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Admin./Industrial Engineering or related is required.
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a similar position is required.
  • Experience in operations management.
  • Knowledge/experience in supply chain.
  • Knowledge of IATF 16949 standard.
  • Knowledge of QMS.
  • Knowledge of Lean.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma.
