Job summary

Copeland Scroll Compresores de Mexico S. de R.L. de C.V. is seeking a Quality Engineer to support the QA team in Reynosa, Mexico. You will assist the Quality Engineer/Manager, supervise auditors, and ensure production aligns with the plant Quality Management System.

You will monitor FPY and process PPMs, participate in cost reduction projects, develop PFMEA and control plans, and maintain process flow diagrams. English proficiency is required for global collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in Quality Engineering, QA, or Manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with Minitab, SPC, X̄-R charts, Cp/Cpk, PFMEA, control plans, and process flow diagrams.
  • English proficiency required.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with theQuality and Safety policies and objectives.
  • Support the Quality Engineer and/or Quality Manager as required.
  • Supervise the activities of In-Line and Final Process Quality Auditors.
  • Ensure production is carried out in accordance with the plant Quality Management System and report non-conformances.
  • Verify compliance with testing requirements, measurements, and proper completion of control charts.
  • Monitor area performance and effectiveness through timely communication of quality metrics.
  • Provide monthly quality metric updates to the Quality Engineer and the broader quality team.
  • Monitor and maintain First Pass Yield (FPY) and Process PPMs in accordance with established targets.
  • Audit manufacturing processes and work instructions within the assigned area.
  • Support the reduction of defects, scrap, and rework in production.
  • Participate in quality improvement and cost reduction projects within the business unit.
  • Assist with document control, updates to plant documentation, and employee training activities.
  • Develop and maintain PFMEAs, Process Control Plans, and Process Flow Diagrams.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Education Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience Minimum 1 year of experience in a Quality Engineering, Quality Assurance, or Manufacturing Environment role.
  • Technical Knowledge Minitab. Statistical Process Control (SPC). X̄-R Charts. Process Capability Analysis (Cp/Cpk). Control Limits. PFMEA. Control Plans. Process Flow Diagrams.
  • Language English proficiency required.
