Job Summary
The successful candidate will work closely with Engineering, Product, Business, and DevOps teams to define automation strategies, improve test coverage, and ensure high-quality software releases.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable Playwright automation frameworks.
- Define and implement the overall test automation strategy, standards, processes, and best practices.
- Develop robust automated UI, functional, regression, smoke, and end-to-end tests using Playwright.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to QA automation engineers.
- Review automation code and ensure adherence to coding, framework, and testing standards.
- Design reusable automation components, fixtures, utilities, and Page Object Model structures.
- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and faster feedback.
- Collaborate with developers, architects, product owners, and DevOps teams to identify quality risks and define appropriate testing strategies.
- Analyze test failures, investigate root causes, and work with development teams to resolve defects.
- Establish and monitor test automation metrics, coverage, execution results, and quality KPIs.
- Develop test plans and automation approaches based on business and technical requirements.
- Lead API and integration testing activities and support validation of end-to-end business workflows.
- Identify opportunities to improve automation stability, execution time, maintainability, and overall test coverage.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, refinement, reviews, retrospectives, and release planning.
- Coordinate QA activities across multiple teams and ensure testing deliverables are completed within project timelines.
- Support release readiness by providing quality assessments, test execution results, defect analysis, and risk information.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across QA automation and software quality processes.
Required Skills & Experience
- 7–10+ years of experience in Software QA / Test Automation, with significant experience in automation leadership.
- Strong hands‑on expertise with Playwright.
- Proven experience designing and implementing automation frameworks from the ground up.
- Strong understanding of UI, functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Experience with Page Object Model, fixtures, reusable components, test data management, and parallel test execution.
- Strong experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar.
- Experience with API testing using Postman, REST APIs, or similar tools.
- Good knowledge of SQL and database validation.
- Strong experience with Git and source‑code management.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Proven experience mentoring and technically guiding QA automation engineers.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Playwright Test and advanced Playwright capabilities.
- Experience with Cucumber/BDD.
- Experience with Docker and cloud‑based test environments.
- Exposure to AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with test reporting and quality dashboards.
- Knowledge of performance, security, or accessibility testing.
- Experience in insurance, financial services, banking, or other regulated industries is a plus.
