Joyson Safety Systems in Monterrey, MX, seeks a Program Manager for the Steering Wheel Product Business Unit to lead program plans and cross-functional teams. You will manage resources to meet timing and profitability goals while resolving inter-team conflicts with functional managers.

You will coordinate product design reviews, ensure production readiness, and drive on-time delivery within budget, interfacing with customers and suppliers to sustain program success.

Responsabilidades

  • Develop, monitor, and update the Program Plan, Milestone Schedule, and Action Item Register.
  • Coordinate core cross-functional teams to meet all milestones and budgets.
  • Support engineering in design reviews and component specifications.
  • Ensure production readiness of assembly and processes, from proto to SOP.
  • Lead supplier and customer interactions to maintain program profitability.
  • Forecast and track capital and tooling expenditures and manage the budget.
  • Drive PPAP activities and ensure timely customer approvals.

Position Summary:

The Program Manager for Steering Wheel (SW) Product Business Unit leads the development and execution of program plans for specific customer platforms. The Program Manager SW must be an active leader with excellent communication, presentation, and team building skills.

The Program Manager SW must proactively manage available resources to achieve the program timing and profitability goals.

The Program Manager SW helps identify and resolve inter-team and intra-team conflict and barriers in cooperation with the functional managers.

The Program Manager SW will lead the team in delivering on time and within budget.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, monitor, control and update the Program Plan, Milestone Schedule, and Action Item Register to support awarded business in compliance with customer expectations and internal program tracking systems.
  • Function as Team Leader responsible to coordinate and manage the core cross functional team’s activities to ensure that ALL milestones are met. This may include elevating program conflicts or issues to JSS management for resolution.
  • Support Product Engineering in the development and maintenance of the Component Design Specification. Support the development of the performance characteristics of the product proposed for the assigned programs. Be knowledgeable with all specifications pertaining to the product and participate in Product Design Reviews.
  • Insure JSS’s assembly plant is capable of producing the product as designed.
  • Insure timely delivery of prototype parts.
  • Support DV and PV builds through team meetings to ensure that projects the product and process is production ready. Ensure engineering is leading the review of test plans and obtaining customer approval. Follow-up for timely completion and issue resolution, review of test results and submission to the customer for approval.
  • Interface and maintain a professional relationship with the customer to continuously improve JSS’s competitive position. Assist Sales Account Manager to gather information regarding competitors, new customer expectations, requirements or technologies.
  • Develop and be accountable for the program budget. Forecast and track capital and tooling expenditures.
  • Resolve supplier in-house engineering and manufacturing concerns.
  • Provide support for all pre-production builds and S.O.P.
  • Lead Early Supplier Team meetings
  • Create and maintain PIT (Profit Improvement Trackers).
  • Create and maintain program tooling matrices, and tooling POs.
  • Track and help ensure customer recovery payments for reimbursable program expenses
  • Ensure PPAP activities are kicked off on time, and PPAP is delivered on time.
  • Ensure the assembly lines are kicked off and ready on time
  • Ensure material planning team is engaged early, and plan launches and breakpoint dates to start on time, with correct DOH inventory is maintained.
  • Work with a mindset of delivering on time and within budget. Inspire others to work with this mindset also.
  • Delegate tasks to others appropriately, hold others accountable, and follow up regularly to ensure completion of critical tasks with good quality.
  • Work cooperatively and support others in our team. During times of overwhelming workloads, be willing to complete tasks on others’ programs, or to ask for help with tasks on your program when it’s needed.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Program Management, Engineering, Business or related field required.
  • Prior automotive Program Management experience strongly preferred.
