Marelli is hiring a Production Supervisor in Toluca, Mexico. This role focuses on administering resources to meet safety, quality, and delivery targets while aligning with the company’s lean manufacturing standards.

You will oversee production plans, staffing, and continuous improvement initiatives within a hybrid work model. The ideal candidate holds an engineering degree (industrial or mechanical), with 3+ years in automotive production and experience in schedule adherence, line balancing, and

Formación

  • Education in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 3 years in the automotive industry and 3 years in a similar role.
  • 2 years in production processes including schedule compliance, line balancing and lean manufacturing.

Responsabilidades

  • Achieve the production plan with required quality, quantity and timing.
  • Ensure processes meet established productivity standards and monitor performance.
  • Oversee shift performance, report OEE, downtime, schedule vs production; ensure proper work instructions.
  • Plan staffing levels and ensure machinery/checklists records are completed.
  • Supervise production boards and stock status to identify issues; manage Kanban decisions.
  • Coordinate continuous improvement activities and analyze root causes of scrap with corrective actions.
  • Support training, coaching, certification, and performance evaluations of direct reports.
  • Ensure safety rules, PPE use, and compliance with QMS/EMS/OH&S; address nonconformities.
  • Audit Team Leaders on standardized work; manage communications and information flow.
  • Onboard and train new operators; report equipment failures to Maintenance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

About the Position:

Manage the administration and control of resources to ensure compliance with safety regulations, the production plan, and customer satisfaction in terms of quality, quantity, and required delivery time.

Your Responsibilities will be:
  • Ensure the production plan is achieved in the required quality, quantity, and timing.
  • Ensure processes meet their established productivity standards.
  • Monitor shift performance and report accurate information at the end of each shift (OEE, Downtime, Schedule vs. Production, FTQ, Kaizens, TAGs, etc.).Verify that Team Leaders monitor and correctly apply work instructions within their areas.
  • Plan workforce staffing levels.Ensure that all required machinery and equipment checklists and records are completed.Verify that production, scrap, FTQ, Kaizen, declarations, and other related forms are completed accurately.
  • Supervise production boards and stock status to identify potential issues.
  • Follow up on the fixed-lot Kanban production system and make production decisions based on customer consumption.Coordinate the execution of continuous improvement activities.
  • Evaluate the root causes of scrap and work with teams to implement corrective actions.
  • Develop action plans together with teams to improve the area and ensure manufactured parts meet the required quality standards.
  • Participate in personnel development, training, coaching, certification, and performance evaluations of direct reports.
  • Ensure personnel comply with safety rules and properly wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Ensure compliance with QMS, EMS, and OH&S regulations regarding the proper use of PPE, the safe management of chemicals, and integrated waste management.Identify and address internal nonconformities within the area.
  • Identify and document potential causes of nonconformities.Audit each Team Leader once per week on Standardized Work.Manage team communication and information flow: TOP 5 meetings, Team Leader meetings, information-sharing meetings, and rapid cascading of key information from management levels.
  • Ensure that transferred tasks are performed correctly by trained personnel.
  • Ensure proper onboarding and training of new operators on the production line through evaluations.
  • Report equipment failures within the area to the Maintenance Department.Perform other duties as assigned.
What Qualifications you will bring:
  • Education Level:
    Industrial Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, or related field.

    Language:
    English (optional)

    Experience:

    • 3 years of experience in the automotive industry.
    • 3 years in a similar position.
    • 2 years of experience in production processes, including production schedule compliance, line balancing, and lean manufacturing.
Other skills that we would welcome:
  • Knowledge of ISO/IATF management systems.
  • Availability to work rotating shifts.
