Zebra Technologies is seeking a highly experienced Test Engineer for our Chihuahua, Mexico site. The role focuses on designing and leading test processes for manufacturing, collaborating with EMS partners, and improving line test efficiency.

What We're Looking For:

• Strategically design test processes, lead the development of manufacturing test solutions, and oversee daily line testing operations in collaboration with our third-party Manufacturing Partner (EMS) in Chihuahua.
• Act as a key technical leader and communication bridge between global R&D design engineers and local manufacturing teams.
• Define test requirements, troubleshoot product and test station failures on the production line, and conduct root cause analysis using advanced quality tools (MSA, PFMEA, 8D).
• Drive operational efficiency through the setup and maintenance of specialized engineering tools (LabVIEW, TestStand), optimize line throughput under Lean Six Sigma (LSS) frameworks, and serve as the technical escalation point to oversee and mentor local test technicians.
• Support the implementation of Zebra's contract with electronic manufacturing services company (EMS) by managing and monitoring the manufacturing activities carried out by the EMS and reporting to the global or regional teams from time to time and performing duties in line with the company’s overall strategy and direction for its product portfolio.
• Act independently to design tests and create test procedures to address moderately complex issues.
• Develop test plans, designs and set up test fixtures.
• Perform Design of Experiments (DOE) with assistance from management or senior PVE team members.
• Consistently apply standard and specialized testing methods.
• Demonstrate full knowledge of product and product cost drivers in area of expertise and proficient knowledge of other subsystem operation.
• Demonstrate proficiency with standard and specialized engineering tools.
• Perform testing following established test plans and procedures; make decisions independently for new test procedures; complete and report results of tests per project timelines; perform moderately complex root cause analysis with support from within department and/or Engineering.
• May participate in the development of new engineering tools.
• Work closely with design engineers and development teams to identify critical performance parameters.
• Act independently to recommend and execute against actions for maintaining test progress.
• Provide expertise in structured test design, test set-up, metrology, data collection, data interpretation, and statistical analysis to design / project team.
• Contribute to process improvement and automation projects.
• May present test results to project team, in department management or small groups of other stakeholders usually limited to Director and below.
• May oversee the work of one or more test technicians, acting as a lead and escalation point.

Education & Experience

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electronic, Mechatronics, Systems, or Computer Engineering (or a related technical field).

Years of Experience: 6+ years of professional experience in test engineering within high-tech manufacturing or EMS environments. (Alternatively, a minimum of 4+ years of experience if the candidate holds specialized technical certifications or a Master's degree in a related field).

Location: Chihuahua, Mexico.

Work Model: 100% On-Site (5 days a week).

Language: Highly proficient in English (C1/C2 level) for corporate communication with global teams.
