Job summary

Zebra is recruiting for a Senior Product Validation Engineer to bridge global R&D with local manufacturing in Chihuahua, MX. You will design tests, develop procedures, and oversee line testing with EMS partners, mentoring technicians and driving process improvements.

The role requires 6+ years in test engineering, strong QA methodologies, and on-site work. Fluency in English is essential for coordination with global teams and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic, Mechatronics, Systems, or Computer Engineering (or a related technical field).
• 6+ years of professional experience in test engineering in high-tech manufacturing or EMS environments.
• On-site in Chihuahua, Mexico; English proficiency at C1/C2 for global communication.

In this role, you will act as a key technical leader and communication bridge between global R&D design engineers and local manufacturing teams . You will be responsible for defining test requirements, troubleshooting product and test station failures on the production line, and conducting root cause analysis using advanced quality tools (MSA, PFMEA, 8D) . Additionally, you will drive operational efficiency through the setup and maintenance of specialized engineering tools (LabVIEW, TestStand) , optimize line throughput under Lean Six Sigma (LSS) frameworks, and serve as the technical escalation point to oversee and mentor local test techniciansSupport the implementation of Zebra’s contract with electronic manufacturing services company (EMS) by managing and monitoring the manufacturing activities carried out by the EMS and reporting to the global or regional teams from time to time and performing duties in line with the company’s overall strategy and direction for its product portfolio:• Acts independently to design tests and creates test procedures to address moderately complex issues. Develops test plans. Designs and sets up test fixtures. Performs Design of Experiments (DOE) with assistance from management or senior PVE team members.• Consistently applies standard and specialized testing methods. Demonstrates full knowledge of product and product cost drivers in area of expertise and proficient knowledge of other subsystem operation.• Demonstrates proficiency with standard and specialized engineering tools• Performs testing following established test plans and procedures. Makes decisions independently for new test procedures. Completes and report results of tests per project timelines.
