Job summary

Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC, a member of the Knorr-Bremse Group, seeks a Product Engineer to own engineering responsibilities for a product family. You’ll collaborate with Test, Design, Quality and Manufacturing teams to drive validation, updates to DFMEA/PPAP and planning of design changes.

You will generate drawings, develop validation plans, support customers and suppliers, and lead cost-reduction efforts while maintaining compliance with product specifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in mechanical/mechatronics or engineering.
• 2+ years of experience (Engineer 2) or 6+ years (Engineer 3) with a relevant bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum 3 years in engineering with automotive or similar industry experience.
• At least 3 years in product responsibility.
• Strong product design experience.
• High level DFMEA/PFMEA experience.
• Experience providing technical support to final customers.
• Lead in cost reduction projects.
• Experience with DOE and CPk in statistical analysis.
• Experience with casting and machining processes.
• Experience in design and manufacturing reviews.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Quality, Manufacturing, suppliers and customers as necessary.
• Collaborate with Design Engineers to plan and generate changes to drawings and models.
• Develop validation plans for product design changes.
• Lead product safety activities and follow up on action items with the team.
• Provide testing conclusions and recommendations based on reports.
