Kidde Global Solutions in Navojoa, Sonora, Mexico seeks a Product Design Engineer with a strong Electronics background. You will analyze and resolve electronic design issues, lead FPY improvements, and support EOL component qualification while driving cost reduction initiatives.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Electronics Engineering, 5+ years’ experience in analog/digital design, RF knowledge, and hands-on use of test equipment. English proficiency is essential for collaboration across teams.

Formación

Responsabilidades

The Product Design Engineer serves as the liaison between the Navojoa Manufacturing site and the Design and Engineering teams. This position is responsible for analyzing and resolving issues related to product electrical performance, driving continuous improvement initiatives to increase First Pass Yield (FPY), supporting the qualification of End‑of‑Life (EOL) components, and actively participating in root cause analysis of manufacturing and field issues. Additionally, the role contributes to cost reduction projects and the implementation of engineering changes to ensure product quality and reliability.

Key Responsibilities.

• Apply technical expertise to troubleshoot electronic design issues and identify the root cause of failures.
• Participate in the development and maintenance of DFMEA documentation.
• Propose design improvements and corrective actions for released products.
• Lead End‑of‑Life (EOL) component evaluation and qualification activities.
• Lead cost reduction projects through alternative component implementation and value engineering initiatives.
• Collaborate with design engineers and cross‑functional teams based on business needs.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing lines and operations.
• Identify and promote continuous improvement and cost reduction opportunities.
• Provide accurate estimates of effort, resources, and timing required to implement corrective actions or alternative components.
• Participate in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs, events, training sessions, and communications.
• Report unsafe conditions, unsafe acts, incidents, injuries, spills, fires, or illnesses to ensure immediate attention and corrective actions.
• Comply with all Environmental, Health, and Safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Support engineering changes, deviations, and product lifecycle management activities.
• Participate in field failure investigations and root cause analysis activities.
• Exercise stop‑work authority whenever quality, safety, or environmental risks are identified.

Basic Qualifications.

Education.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering or a related field.

Experience.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Electronic Design Engineering.
• Experience troubleshooting and resolving analog and digital circuit issues.
• Experience supporting manufacturing operations and product engineering activities.

Languages.

• Advanced English proficiency, both written and spoken.

Preferred Qualifications. Technical Knowledge.

• Strong knowledge of RF technology.
• Proficiency in the use of electronic test and measurement equipment, including multimeters, curve tracers, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and signal generators.
• Basic knowledge of integrated circuit (IC) programming.
• Experience in analog and digital circuit design.
• Mechanical aptitude preferred.
• Knowledge of Continuous Improvement methodologies.
• Ability to interpret product schematics, layouts, and engineering drawings.
• Experience performing product failure analysis using electronic test equipment.
• Experience using Oracle systems.
• Knowledge of Bill of Materials (BOM) creation and interpretation.
• Experience implementing engineering changes, deviations, and Management of Change (MOC) processes.
• Knowledge and interpretation of electronic PCB layouts.
