Fortune Brands Innovations, Inc. in Nuevo León is seeking a Sr Product Development Engineer to lead design and development from concept to launch at our New Innovation Center.

You will mentor entry level engineers and interns, driving continuous improvement and cost reduction across manufacturing processes. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, full bilingual capability, and at least 8 years of experience with manufacturing and product development, plus travel to international

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required.
• Valid Visa to work in the country is required.
• Availability to travel up to 15%.
• Fully bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience including manufacturing exposure and product development.
• Experience with international suppliers is preferred.
• Experience with 3-D parametric modeling (SolidWorks), MS Project and MS Office.

Responsabilidades

• Lead design and development engineering on projects from concept to production.
• Lead teams in problem solving and failure analysis using engineering tools.
• Drive teams to develop cost-effective manufacturing and assembly processes concurrent to product design.
• Interact with Marketing, Sales, QA, Manufacturing, Designers, Purchasing and suppliers to meet customer needs.
• Develop, lead, and participate in Design Reviews / DFM / DFA for new products.
• Lead other team members in solving multiple complex engineering problems.
• Mentor and coach teammates in problem solving and engineering.
• Continuously improve processes, skills, and tools to achieve product leadership.
• Develop and identify intellectual property claims with project teams.
• Communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.

You will mentor new talent, especially entry level engineers with the possibility to mentor interns. Your design work will support our continuous improvement and cost reduction agendas to improve the health of our business..

Job Description

• Lead design and development engineering on assigned projects from concept to production. Provide engineering support and technical assistance to all engineering customers, both internal and external
• Lead teams in problem solving and failure analysis using engineering analysis tools
• Drive team to develop capable, cost effective manufacturing and assembly processes concurrent to product design activities to insure robust designs are delivered
• Interact with Marketing, Sales, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Designers, Purchasing, and suppliers to meet the specifications and needs of the customer in the development of new, reliable products for the market
• Develop, lead, and actively participate in Design Reviews / DFM / DFA for new products
• Lead other team members in resolving multiple complex engineering problems simultaneously in a multiple team environment 4
• Mentor/Coach other team members in problem solving and engineering
• Continuously improve processes, skills, team environment and tools necessary to achieve Moen’s product leadership strategy
• Develop and identify intellectual property claims for Moen while working with project teams
• Communicate technical information (data, designs and updates) to a non-technical audience

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required
• Valid Visa
• Availability to travel
• Fully Bilingual
• Minimum of 8years of experience to include significant manufacturing exposure as well as product development experience is required
• Experience with International suppliers is preferred
• Experience with 3-D Parametric Solid Modeling (Solid Works is a plus), Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Candidate must be familiar in the following areas: Advanced Failure Analysis and scientific problem solving FEA, FMEA, DOE,QFD, and DFMA use of engineering principles. i.e. fluid, mechanical and thermal Interpretation of statistics related tomanufacturing processes and part design
• Collaborative problem solving techniques Geometric dimensioning and tolerances
• Analysis of component / assembly tolerance stack-up’s
• Ability and willingness to travel up to approximately 15% of the time, both domestically and internationally
• Ability to effectively work with suppliers from different countries / cultures
• Written and verbal communication skills for dealing with multiple levels of staff, customers and suppliers
