Caterpillar Inc. in Reynosa, Mexico, seeks a Capital Projects Manager to lead the implementation and lifecycle management of capital initiatives.

The role collaborates with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain to ensure regulatory and BIQ compliance and delivers on 5-year project strategies. The position requires strong analytical skills, experience with asset life cycles, and knowledge of SAP PM/AutoCAD.

Formación

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • Advanced English proficiency.

Responsabilidades

  • Review and justify capital projects.
  • Perform Asset Life Cycle Analysis (M&E).
  • Prepare and follow up on the approval of capital requisitions.
  • Perform labor reclassification for capital projects.
  • Evaluate and justify 5-year capital projects.
  • Prepare condition reports for machinery and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with Built-In Quality (BIQ) requirements for each project.
  • Prepare, follow up, and close change letters, including registration and surplus.
  • Review financial calculations with the OPACC financial manager.
  • Execute savings initiatives (OIA).
  • Perform financial analysis of implemented projects.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for managing the implementation of capital projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards, maintaining accurate records and documentation of implemented projects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain). The role also involves developing and maintaining procedures for project implementation based on resource availability, as well as evaluating 5-year capital projects in alignment with the company's strategic vision.

What You Will Do
  • Review and justify capital projects.

Education Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field (e.g., Administrative Mechanical Engineering or Industrial and Administrative Engineering).
  • Advanced English proficiency.

  • Working knowledge of Power BI.
Service Excellence
  • Experience managing, planning, and administering short-, medium- and long-term capital projects (CAPEX, OIA).
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical systems and compressed air systems management.
  • Knowledge of project management principles.
  • Familiarity with change management methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Understanding product development, quality, and change management processes.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes.
Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)
  • Advanced knowledge of developing and managing maintenance plans for major equipment.
  • Ability to analyze the lifecycle of machinery and equipment.
  • Experience with SAP PM module and AutoCAD.
  • Familiarity with NextGen systems.
Additional Information
  • Location: Reynosa, Mexico.
  • Work schedule: Monday to Friday, with weekend work as needed. Flexibility is required.
  • Less than 10% travel (domestic and international).
  • Relocation is not available for this position
