Orbia is seeking a Process Control Manager to lead global process optimization across multiple manufacturing sites in a dynamic, international setting. You will drive APC initiatives, coordinate cross-functional teams, and deliver measurable improvements in efficiency, reliability, and safety.

The role requires strong engineering background, 8+ years of experience in process control, and fluency in English and Spanish. Travel is required to support global operations and project execution.

Formación

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field.
  • 8+ years in process control, automation, or related areas.
  • Experience with DCS/PLC/SCADA.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish; willing to travel internationally.

Process Control Manager

Location: Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz

Are you passionate about leveraging automation, digital transformation, and advanced process control to drive operational excellence in a global manufacturing environment?

We are seeking a highly skilled Process Control Manager to lead process optimization and control system initiatives across multiple manufacturing sites. This role will be responsible for developing and executing strategies that improve plant performance, reliability, safety, and efficiency through the application of advanced process control, automation technologies, data analytics, and Industry 4.0 solutions.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with strategic leadership capabilities and has a proven track record of delivering measurable business results within chemical, petrochemical, or other continuous manufacturing industries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute the global Process Control strategy aligned with business and operational objectives.
  • Lead initiatives focused on process optimization, operational excellence, and digital transformation across manufacturing facilities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency, process stability, asset reliability, product quality, and energy utilization.
  • Drive the implementation and continuous improvement of Advanced Process Control (APC), automation systems, and digital technologies.
  • Collaborate closely with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, and Technology teams to deliver sustainable process improvements.
  • Analyze operational and production data to identify trends, diagnose performance gaps, and develop data-driven solutions.
  • Support reliability and asset integrity programs through automation and process control improvements.
  • Manage and prioritize process control projects from concept through implementation, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Provide technical leadership, coaching, and mentoring to multidisciplinary teams across multiple locations.
  • Promote best practices in process control, automation, cybersecurity, and operational excellence throughout the organization.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence and advanced analytics, to drive innovation and enhance plant performance.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in process control, automation, process optimization, or operational excellence within chemical, petrochemical, mining, manufacturing, or other continuous process industries.
  • Strong expertise in Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), and SCADA systems.
  • Experience with major automation platforms such as Emerson, ABB, Honeywell, Siemens, Yokogawa, or similar.
  • Demonstrated experience leading digital transformation, operational excellence, or process improvement initiatives.
  • Experience utilizing process data analytics to improve plant performance and business outcomes.
  • Knowledge of Advanced Process Control (APC), Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), Industry 4.0, Machine Learning, or Artificial Intelligence applications in manufacturing environments is highly desirable.
  • Strong project management and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluent English and Spanish communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.
  • Availability for frequent international travel.
  • Valid passport and ability to travel globally.
