Job summary

Ford of Mexico is seeking an experienced Powertrain Quality Engineer to act as the technical bridge between Quality, Product Development, and Calibration teams. You will own end‑to‑end powertrain control and calibration issues across combustion, hybrid, and electric architectures.

You will lead cross‑functional teams, drive production‑floor fixes, and ensure field effectiveness while safeguarding vehicle integrity and customer satisfaction globally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related technical field.
• Relevant engineering experience (typically 3 to 5 years) in automotive problem‑solving, quality engineering, systems engineering, or powertrain calibration.
• Demonstrated experience leading root‑cause analysis investigations using structured problem‑solving methodologies (8D, 5‑Why, Fishbone, or Red X).
• Working technical knowledge of powertrain systems (combustion, hybrid, or electric), diagnostic monitors, or vehicle‑level data acquisition.
• Proven ability to drive results and align cross‑functional teams in a matrixed engineering environment.
• Valid driver’s license to support on‑vehicle data collection and evaluation activities.

Responsibilities

• Drive end‑to‑end resolution of powertrain controls and calibration issues from anomaly detection to permanent corrective action.
• Lead cross‑functional task forces to investigate root causes using structured problem‑solving methods.
• Influence engineering priorities by building data‑backed business cases for resources.
• Manage field fix rollout by coordinating software updates, calibrations, and timelines with plants and service operations.
• Verify solution effectiveness and develop Technical Service Bulletins for field technicians.
• Capture lessons learned and embed best practices into future design rules and dashboards.
