Job summary

Ford México is seeking a Quality Engineer to join the Quality team supporting production line operations. You will drive quality performance, lead problem-solving activities, and partner with Manufacturing Engineering, Production, and Maintenance to ensure the highest standards.

You will focus on process control, FTT/RTY metrics, containment, and continuous improvement using Lean Six Sigma methods, while developing technicians and ensuring certification and inspection methods are followed.

Qualifications

3+ years of experience in automotive manufacturing or high-technology component production in Quality or Production roles.
Solid experience with automotive core tools (FMEA, Control Plan, SPC, MSA).
Experience with Lean Manufacturing and visual management systems.
Knowledge of IATF 16949 quality management systems.

Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with plant safety standards and procedures on the production line.
Monitor and drive KPIs such as FTT, RTY, and scrap reduction.
Lead containment and problem-resolution activities using 8D, 5 Whys, and Ishikawa.
Confirm Control Plans, FMEA, and other quality docs per IATF 16949.
Manage customer complaints with timely root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
Support new model launches and process changes to ensure quality from start.
Lead or participate in Lean/Six Sigma projects to improve quality and reduce costs.
Verify calibration of quality gauges and measurement systems (MSA).
Manage quarantine and non-conforming material processes with proper disposition.
Train production and quality technicians on standards and inspection methods.
Foster an inclusive and collaborative quality team environment.
