Job description

Quality is a critical part of successful vehicle development and launch. This Program Quality Engineer role will support vehicle-line quality delivery through robust analysis, forecasting, problem identification, and cross-functional quality leadership, with emphasis on new model program quality from early program milestones through launch readiness and ongoing quality performance

  • Serve as a Quality Analytics and Business Process Subject Matter Expert responsible for supporting vehicle-line quality objectives through robust analysis, forecasting, and problem identification.
  • Provide technical expertise in the measurement and performance management of key quality indicators, including early warranty performance, cost of quality, customer satisfaction, initial quality, reliability, and long-term warranty cost.
  • Integrate insights from internal and external data sources to identify quality risks, quantify opportunities, and drive data-informed improvements.
  • Serve as a recognized Subject Matter Expert for quality analytics, reporting methods, benchmarking approaches, and quality business processes.
  • Provide data analysis and technical expertise to support the development and deployment of vehicle-line quality targets down to functional system and component levels.
  • Lead part-level and system-level gap-to-target analysis to support program quality reviews, management reviews, and risk-based decision making.
  • Lead and support lifecycle quality plans that bridge current and forward model quality, including quality deliverables from program start through final engineering completion and launch readiness.
  • Support completion of program-intent quality assessments by reviewing documentation, participating in gate reviews, and escalating identified risks.
  • Provide data and analysis to support launch scorecard quality assessments, launch quality deliverables, reliability workstreams, and new model quality readiness.
  • Act as the plant-based lead for current model quality analysis, aging issue visibility, containment timing, issue escalation, and support of local quality issue resolution.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Sciences, or a related technical field.
  • Working knowledge of automotive quality tools, program quality processes, warranty analysis, issue management, and customer-quality survey data.
  • Strong working-level experience with data analytics and the ability to convert data into clear quality insights, risks, and recommendations.
  • Strong working-level experience with AI-enabled assistants and analytics tools to improve analysis, reporting, and quality decision support.
  • Good presentation skills, including the ability to communicate quality performance, risks, and opportunities to plant, program, and quality stakeholders.
  • Ability to effectively interface with cross-functional teams and support robust vehicle quality plans.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience supporting or applying Program Quality Planning, quality status reporting, launch quality processes, issue tracking, structured problem solving, and quality analytics tools.
  • Experience with warranty, reliability, cost, JD Power, Consumer Reports, or other customer-quality data sources.
  • Experience supporting current model quality issue resolution, cross-functional quality action plans, plant-based quality escalation, and new model launch quality readiness.
  • Training or demonstrated capability in product development processes, systems engineering, FMEA, design verification, production validation, strategic problem solving, and quality management principles.
