Job summary

Pentangle Tech Services | P5 Group in Mexico City seeks a Controls Engineer to design and build automation and robotic equipment using Siemens TIA Portal. You will own solutions from concept to installation and work within a team to deliver high-quality, innovative outcomes.

The role requires 3–8 years of TIA Portal experience and deep knowledge in PLC or robotics, with FANUC robotics experience and iRVision a plus. Training provided to align with internal standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical/controls/mechatronic or related field.
• 3–8 years of experience with Siemens TIA Portal.
• Expertise in either PLC or robotics; proficiency in one path.
• FANUC robotics experience; iRVision is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and build automation and robotic equipment.
• Own and implement solutions from project concept to installation.
• Conduct machine concepting, proof-of-principle, electrical design/layout, software design/programming, and debug hardware/software.
• Perform acceptance testing and installation/integration at the factory.
• Stay updated with rapidly changing technology to deliver optimal solutions.
• Proficiency in Siemens TIA Portal.
• 3-8 years of experience with TIA Portal.
• PLC programming, HMI/SCADA design, and drive configuration.
• Knowledge of controls hardware including sensors, remote IO, servos, VFDs, machine vision, and barcode readers.
• Familiarity with industrial networking protocols such as Profinet, Ethernet I/P, and EtherCAT.
• Experience with 6-axis robots, primarily FANUC.

• Join us as a Controls Engineer where you will leverage your expertise in Siemens TIA Portal to design and build automation and robotic equipment. This role is crucial in developing solutions from project concept to installation, ensuring high-quality and innovative results. With a minimum of 3-8 years of experience in TIA Portal, you will be expected to integrate seamlessly into our team, with training provided to align with our internal standards.
• We only expect candidates to be strong in EITHER PLC or Robotics (not necessarily both).
• IF PLC: must have Siemens TIA Portal experience. Step7 is the previous generation Siemens software and is not applicable for our needs.
• IF Robotics: FANUC experience is required. iRVision is a plus but not required.
