Optima Organizational Solutions is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to provide leadership and operational responsibility for two manufacturing facilities in the Monterrey area. This hands-on role requires improving safety, quality, productivity, and cost while developing leaders and implementing Lean initiatives.

POSITION SUMMARY

Our client, a leading furniture and home furnishings company is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to provide overall leadership and operational responsibility for two manufacturing facilities in the Ciudad Benito Juarez, Nuevo León area. This position will have full responsibility for the performance of both sites, including production, quality, engineering, maintenance, safety, materials, continuous improvement, cost performance, and people development. The Plant Manager will establish consistent operating standards across the two facilities while ensuring each operation achieves its objectives for safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost.

The ideal candidate is a highly engaged, hands-on manufacturing leader who is comfortable spending significant time on the production floor, developing leaders, driving accountability, solving operational problems, and building a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide overall leadership and operational direction for two manufacturing facilities in the Monterrey area, ensuring alignment with company objectives and performance expectations.
• Lead all major plant functions, including Production, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Materials, Safety, and Continuous Improvement.
• Achieve operational targets for safety, quality, delivery, productivity, cost, and customer satisfaction across both sites.
• Establish consistent operating standards, management systems, KPIs, and accountability throughout both facilities.
• Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to improve manufacturing flow, labor efficiency, equipment utilization, quality, and cost.
• Manage plant financial performance, including budgets, labor, overtime, scrap, operating expenses, productivity initiatives, and capital investments.
• Develop and strengthen the leadership organization through coaching, performance management, succession planning, and talent development.
• Maintain a strong hands-on presence on the manufacturing floor, proactively identifying operational issues, removing barriers, and building a culture of safety, teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience, including significant responsibility at the Plant Manager, Operations Manager, or comparable level.
• Demonstrated experience leading a complex manufacturing operation with responsibility for multiple functional areas.
• Multi-site leadership experience strongly preferred.
• Experience within furniture, upholstered furniture, case goods, wood products, consumer products, or other labor-intensive manufacturing environments highly desirable.
• Proven track record of improving operational performance in areas such as safety, quality, productivity, delivery, labor efficiency, and cost.
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience managing large hourly workforces and developing frontline and middle-management leadership.
• Strong financial and business acumen with experience managing budgets and manufacturing costs.
• Demonstrated ability to lead organizational change and establish accountability in complex manufacturing environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills.
• Ability and willingness to routinely travel between and maintain an active leadership presence at both Monterrey-area manufacturing facilities.
• Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
