Job summary

Equity Packaging Inc. - North America seeks a Packaging Development Engineer in Mexico City to lead packaging innovation and productivity projects, collaborating with the global team to develop live system specifications and harmonize packaging standards.

You will manage data collection from global vendors, drive capability improvements, and contribute to cost savings through design best practices and sustainability reporting. Degree in Packaging and 1+ year experience required.

Qualifications

• Graduate or Engineering in Packaging or relevant field.
• 1+ years minimum experience in Packaging R&D for CPG, Food & Beverage or related industries
• Good communication skills both oral and written

Responsibilities

• Manage and execute packaging innovation and productivity projects.
• Working with Global Team for developing packaging specification for live system.
• Responsible for maintaining and harmonizing the packaging specification in the system.
• Creation of Standardized packaging specification document Responsible for Data Collection from Global Vendors/Suppliers for missing information to enable the subsequent creation & enrichment of all specs and packaging standards
• Lead Key Areas of Capability Improvement: Productivity/Value Creation, Category Benchmarking, Technical Know-How, Design Best Practices, Development Innovation Process & Excellence in Execution
• Lead the productivity improvement pillar for packaging areas in the supply chain cross function all team (material, equipment)
• Material, equipment, design, rationalization, waste improvement.
• Vendor based sustainability reporting.
• Manage Innovation Project from concept through commercialization and retail shelves
• Work with internal customers to commercialize packaging designs and concepts
• Represent packaging in cross functional team meetings to develop and implement new packaging and packaging changes to realize cost savings
• Conduct line trials
• Conduct lab testing
• Develop packaging specifications
