Flex is seeking an Operations supervisor for its Guadalajara, South Campus, reporting to the Production Manager. You will oversee production staff, implement policies across procurement, production and engineering, and ensure ISO and safety standards are met to maintain quality, cost, and delivery goals.

You will lead continuous improvement initiatives, train staff, coordinate workflows, and liaise with other units to resolve operational issues, while supporting budget processes and staff

Formación

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or related field.
  • Experience supervising manufacturing processes, industrial operations, and/or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience managing and leading personnel.
  • Experience in SMT and Structural Assembly areas (Wave Soldering, Press-Fit, 5DX, ICT), as well as tracking WOs, WIP, Scrap, and 5S.

Responsabilidades

  • Supervises production staff on work method and quality checkpoints.
  • Coordinates efforts of operations team by establishing procurement, production and engineering services policies and practices.
  • Ensures ISO and safety standards are adhered.
  • Leverages industry practices and applies to internal systems and processes.
  • Provides supervision and direction to subordinate staff and coordinates workflow within major work unit, including distributing work, disseminating information, assigning staff to cover for absences, providing technical assistance, answering questions, and resolving problems within the work unit supervised.
  • Supervises the development and implementation of training programs within the work unit supervised.
  • Serves as a liaison between the work unit and other offices and outside agencies for the distribution and collection of information and to resolve operational issues.
  • Develops and implements new procedures and responds to changes in statutes and administrative policies.
  • Trains staff in the use of automated systems and word processing software, introduces new versions or functions, trouble shoots problems, and attends meetings.
  • Assists in the preparation of the budget for the work unit.
  • Performs reviewing work performance, motivating subordinates to work more effectively, identifying problems with performance and solutions to those problems, defining training needs to improve performance, Participates in the hiring and promoting of staff within the work unit supervised, including serving on a panel to interview applicants and making recommendations to superiors.
  • Prepares and/or processes personnel actions such as promotions, appointments, transfers, leaves of absences.
  • Supervises the maintenance of personnel records and time sheets for staff supervised.
  • Coordinates time off requests to ensure adequate coverage.

Job Summary

What a typical day looks like:

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or related field.
  • Experience supervising manufacturing processes, industrial operations, and/or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience managing and leading personnel.
  • Experience in SMT and Structural Assembly areas (Wave Soldering, Press-Fit, 5DX, ICT), as well as tracking WOs, WIP, Scrap, and 5S.
Technical Knowledge:
  • Time and motion studies, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, data analysis tools (advanced Excel; Minitab preferred), and basic knowledge of ERP and manufacturing systems.
