Jobbeschreibung

Position Summary

The Operations Projects Lead is responsible for leading critical operational improvement and recovery initiatives across the plant. This hands-on role drives execution, removes operational bottlenecks, and accelerates performance improvement through disciplined project management, daily accountability, and cross-functional collaboration. Initially focused on materials management, inventory control, warehouse effectiveness, finished-goods flow, and shipping, the role will partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, Finance, and other functions to stabilize processes, implement sustainable controls, and improve plant performance. As business needs evolve, the role may support broader production, planning, manufacturing, and operational transformation initiatives.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Execution

Lead assigned plant improvement, recovery, and operational transformation projects. Develop and maintain project charters, action plans, timelines, milestones, and measurable success criteria. Coordinate cross-functional activities and conduct daily follow-up on open actions and commitments. Track project progress against agreed targets and timelines; identify delays, risks, and roadblocks. Escalate issues requiring management support and verify completion of assigned actions. Maintain project KPIs and provide clear, regular progress updates to plant leadership.

Operational Improvement

Identify and address operational bottlenecks that affect safety, quality, delivery, cost, or productivity. Implement rapid, practical actions to stabilize critical processes and deliver short-term results. Use structured problem-solving and continuous improvement methods to identify root causes and implement corrective actions. Support standard work, process controls, visual management, and sustainable accountability routines. Create and maintain a PDCA Wall or equivalent visual action-tracking system for each assigned project.

Materials, Warehouse & Inventory Recovery

Lead improvement activities involving material receiving and trailer backlog. Improve warehouse organization, governance, material flow, and location controls. Drive inventory accuracy, physical inventory preparation, and post-inventory follow-up. Improve work-in-process control and reduction, scrap reporting, control, and disposition. Strengthen FIFO compliance and material-location discipline. Address excess and obsolete inventory and track material-related corrective actions. Implement basic material-control standards and support finished-goods and shipping flow improvements.

Shop-Floor Presence & Accountability

Maintain a strong, visible presence on the shop floor and in warehouse areas. Validate execution, completion, and effectiveness of agreed actions at the point of work. Engage managers, supervisors, and employees in problem-solving and improvement efforts. Conduct routine progress reviews and reinforce ownership while preserving functional accountability.

Broader Operational Support

Support additional projects in production, planning, manufacturing, supply chain, or other priority areas as assigned by the Plant General Manager. Provide objective analysis, recommendations, and disciplined follow-through to support plant transformation. Role clarity: This position coordinates and drives assigned projects but does not replace functional ownership. Department managers remain accountable for their respective processes and results.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field preferred; an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered. 5+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing operations, materials, supply chain, engineering, continuous improvement, or project leadership preferred. Demonstrated experience coordinating cross-functional improvement projects and driving actions to completion. Working knowledge of materials management, warehousing, inventory control, manufacturing operations, or supply chain processes. Experience with Lean, PDCA, Kaizen, root cause analysis, or other continuous improvement methods preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint; experience with ERP/MRP systems and data visualization tools is preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced plant environment, manage competing priorities, and spend significant time in production and warehouse areas. English and Spanish language capability preferred based on plant and stakeholder needs.
