Job summary

Essity is seeking an Operations Manager to drive the plant's performance and continuous improvement. You will lead Process and Maintenance teams, ensuring safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets while developing people and capabilities.

The role combines hands‑on leadership with strategic thinking and cross‑functional collaboration, contributing to productivity initiatives, infrastructure projects and innovation aligned with business priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field.
• 5–8 years in industrial manufacturing, preferably tissue paper/continuous processes.
• Strong TPM knowledge, cost management, and maintenance systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety, quality, cost, delivery, and morale targets for the operation.
• Identify and eliminate unsafe conditions and foster a strong safety culture.
• Coach and develop Process and Maintenance teams for high performance.
• Manage budgets, resources, overtime, and maintenance labor costs.
• Improve equipment efficiency and reduce waste through TPM and KPI focus.
• Drive TPM (AM–PM), RCA, and daily management systems; contribute to projects and innovation.

About the Role

As Operations Manager, you will play a key role within the plant leadership team, driving operational performance and continuous improvement across the operation. You will lead teams in Process and Maintenance, ensure strong results across safety, quality, delivery and cost, and contribute to the long‑term development of people and capabilities.
This role combines hands‑on leadership, strategic thinking and cross‑functional collaboration, with active involvement in productivity initiatives, infrastructure projects and innovation efforts aligned with business priorities.

What You Will Do

• Operational Results (SQCDM): Lead and deliver safety, quality, cost, delivery and morale targets for the operational area.

• Safety Leadership: Identify, eliminate and prevent unsafe conditions, fostering a strong safety culture across teams.

• Team Management: Lead, coach and develop Process and Maintenance teams to achieve high performance and engagement.

• Cost & Budget Control: Manage operational budgets, resources, overtime and cost per-ton for maintenance and labor.

• Efficiency & Performance: Define and implement strategies to improve equipment efficiency, reduce waste and optimize key operational and financial KPIs.

• Continuous Improvement: Drive TPM implementation (AM–PM), root cause analysis (RCA) and structured daily management systems.

• Projects & Innovation: Participate in savings, infrastructure and new product development projects in collaboration with local and global teams.

Who You Are

• University degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electromechanical, Industrial Engineering or a related field.

• 5–8 years of experience in industrial manufacturing environments, preferably in tissue paper production or continuous processes.

• Strong knowledge of TPM methodologies, manufacturing cost management, maintenance systems and operational processes.

• Proven leadership capabilities, with strong communication, collaboration, influence, conflict resolution and coaching skills, and the ability to perform under pressure.

• Advanced English proficiency and willingness to travel and relocate when required.
