Job summary

SBM Offshore is seeking a GP Operator to support shipboard maintenance, rigging, and coating tasks offshore. The role requires strict adherence to safety standards, effective communication, and collaboration with the GP Foreman and crew.

You will perform sling and rigging operations, prep and maintain equipment, and participate in emergency response activities. Ideal candidates hold STCW A II/5 or equivalent, with 2+ years’ offshore deck experience and required rigging certifications.

Qualifications

• STCW certification required.
• Over 2 years’ deck experience offshore/shipping.
• Rigging and lifting certification required.
• Medical fitness per GEMS Health Requirements to Work Offshore.

Responsibilities

• Perform shipboard maintenance as directed by GP Foreman.
• Carry out slinging and rigging operations safely.
• Direct loads using hand signals and radio communications.
• Maintain slinging equipment and perform maintenance tasks.
• Ensure clean and safe worksite and report hazards.
• Contribute to emergency response drills and readiness.
