A leading offshore service provider is seeking a Cargo Operator in Tampico, Mexico. The role involves executing cargo operations safely and effectively, while adhering to strict maintenance protocols. Candidates should have 3+ years of experience as a Pumpman on oil tankers, with a preference for those familiar with VLCCs. Required certification includes STCW Reg AII/4, and applicants must be medically fit for offshore work. Strong technical skills and safety awareness are critical for success in this position.

Formación

  • 3 years’ experience as Pumpman on oil tankers (VLCC experience preferred).
  • Understanding of Permit to Work systems; Mechanical Isolation Standards, Risk Assessment, and COSHH.
  • Medically fit according to The Company GEMS Instruction Health Requirements to Work Offshore.

Responsabilidades

  • Exhibit a high standard of safety behavior in cargo operations.
  • Execute maintenance and preservation tasks efficiently and safely.
  • Monitor and maintain pollution control measures.
  • Monitor and Maintain Marine and Cargo Operations
  • Prepare and shutdown Marine and Cargo Operations
  • Isolate, Maintain and Reinstate Pumproom and Cargo Systems
  • Operate under PTW and Isolation Certificates and conduct toolbox talks
  • Contribute to Tank Entry, Inspection, Maintenance and Preservation Activities
  • Test Isolations for integrity to company procedures
  • Depressurize, drain and vent, degas plant or system as required
  • Confirm working area is free of hazards as per Permit or procedure
  • Communicate effectively with team and CCR
  • Perform maintenance and preservation activities within limit of responsibility and training
  • Perform De-isolation; testing and re-instatement of plant according to procedure
  • Monitor And Maintain Pollution Control Measures
  • Emergency Response roles and drills

Responsibilities Overview
  • The Cargo Operator will exhibit a high standard of safety behavior and will ensure that all aspects of Cargo and Cargo Utility operations are carried out safely and effectively.
  • The Cargo Operator is also responsible for executing maintenance and preservation tasks efficiently and safely to ensure the reliability and longevity of equipment. This role involves performing a variety of maintenance and preservation activities, including but not limited to cleaning, housekeeping, blasting, spraying/painting, isolation and reinstatement, greasing application, and the preservation of topside items like flanges, bolts and valves.
  • The cargo operator will demonstrate exemplary safety awareness and technical competence in all aspects of maintenance and preservation work on and around the vessel.

  • The Cargo Operator is authorized to carry out cargo loading and offloading and maintenance of cargo systems and utilities

Accountable For: Responsibilities & Standards
  • 1) Prepare for Start-up, Monitor and Shutdown Cargo Operations
  • 1 Prepare to Start Marine and Cargo Operations.
  • 2 Start-up Marine and Cargo Operations.
  • 3 Monitor and Maintain Marine and Cargo Operations.
  • 4 Prepare and shutdown Marine and Cargo Operations.
  • 2) Isolate, Maintain and Reinstate Pumproom and Cargo Systems
  • 1 Operate under PTW and Isolation Certificates and conduct toolbox talks.
  • 2 Contribute to Tank Entry, Inspection, Maintenance and Preservation Activities.
  • 3 Test Isolations for integrity to company procedures.
  • 4 Depressurize, drain and vent, de-gas, the plant or system as required according to procedures or operating guides.
  • 5 Confirm that the working area is free of hazards as per Permit or procedure using appropriate tests, (gas/H2S Inert, Volts etc.).
  • 6 Communicate effectively with team and CCR.
  • 7 Perform maintenance and preservation activities within limit of responsibility and training.
  • 8 Perform De-isolation; testing and re-instatement of plant are carried out according to procedure.
  • 3) Monitor And Maintain Pollution Control Measures
  • 1 Ensure that controlled process discharges from area of responsibility to the environment are within prescribed limits.
  • 2 Ensure that unplanned discharges are identified, halted where possible, and reported according to policy, procedure and regulation.
  • 3 Deal with equipment, waste or other materials for disposal according to the correct procedure.
  • 4) Emergency Response
  • 1 Carry Out Emergency Response role (See Station Bill).
  • 2 Demonstrate competence in Emergency Response drills and exercises.
