Job summary

Delta System & Software, Inc. seeks a senior Network Engineer to design, implement, and manage global data, voice, and video networking services. You will maintain infrastructure, document processes, and support incidents and changes across the network stack.

You will coordinate with IT and business stakeholders, lead site activations, SD-WAN efforts, and develop automation tools while ensuring high availability and performance for users and third parties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related field.
• 7+ years supporting LAN/WAN solutions.
• Working knowledge of Cisco & Ruckus wireless solutions.
• Ruckus switching/wireless experience.
• F5 load balancing knowledge.
• CCNA/CCNP desirable.
• Networking protocols: BGP, OSPF, GRE, HSRP/VRRP, SNMP, MPLS, QoS, DNS.
• Strong communication and teamwork.
• Ability to work under pressure.

• Supporting US hours 10am CST to 7pm CST (8am - 5pm PST)
• Will be required to be on call for support 24-hours a day, seven days a week.

Position Summary: Develop, plan, implement, document, and administer network technologies supporting global data, voice, and video services and solutions to company users and authorized third parties. This includes developing, maintaining, administering, supporting, and optimizing the network infrastructure and any supporting systems. This role will also be responsible for tracking, detailing, and remediating network infrastructure-related issues assigned through the Incident and Change Management processes.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage project initiatives, create project and implementation plans. Communicate with and coordinate internal and external project resources as needed.
• Manage implementation of networking solutions as assigned.
• Work with IT and business stakeholders to understand needs and implement solutions based on defined requirements.
• Use defined processes to manage all change management activities associated with the network infrastructure including communications, approvals, procedural documentation, and production acceptance.
• Assist with root cause analysis, troubleshooting and remediation of network events as assigned and conduct all necessary follow-up actions based on assignments.
• Coordinate resolution efforts and prepare reports of findings.
• Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of WAN/LAN networking basics, protocols, and best practices (i.e. DNS, Routing, NAT, web traffic, and email traffic).
• Lead major network project initiatives relating to new site activations, site moves and wireless rollouts
• Support ongoing implementation of SDWAN technology; hands-on experience with Versa Networks preferred
• Develop Network Automation tools through advanced scripting; Python, YAML, JSON, etc.
• Create network documentation and network standards documents as assigned.
• Recommend changes to policies, procedures, and standards and ensures conformance with IT and Company objectives. Participate and assist in driving the knowledge management process.
• Assists in the recommendation and acquisition of new solutions and equipment.
• Assist in developing and enhancing cooperative interdepartmental and business relationships and communications.
• Assists with establishing budgetary requirements for equipment and services
• Takes personal responsibility for making meeting commitments and ensuring expected results are achieved.

Skills Required
